Security Signal Devices, Inc., doing business as SSD Alarm ("SSD Alarm," "we," "us," or "our"), values your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website at www.ssdalarm.com (the "Site") or interact with us.

This policy also describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"), and how you may exercise those rights.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

A. Information You Provide Directly

When you complete a contact form, request a quote, or make an appointment through our Site, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • City and zip code
  • The content of your message
B. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our Site, certain information may be collected automatically, including:

  • IP address and device information — Our Site uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam and abuse. Google reCAPTCHA may collect your IP address, browser type, hardware and software information, and interaction data. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Geolocation data — On our Contact page, with your explicit permission through your browser's built-in prompt, we may access your approximate location to help you find the nearest SSD Alarm office. This data is not stored or retained.
  • How you found our Site — When you first arrive, we record the website that referred you (the site name only, for example a search engine or a business directory), the page you landed on, any campaign tags in the link, and whether you arrived from an online ad. We keep this in a first-party cookie (see Section 4) and include it with any contact, quote or appointment request you send, so we know which of our listings and ads bring inquiries. Our server logs keep the same information, without any personal details, to count visits by source. It does not include your IP address.
  • Usage data (Google Analytics) — We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site: pages viewed, time on page, the type of device and browser, approximate location (city level), and actions such as submitting a form or tapping a phone number. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address to provide this service; it does not provide us with your name or contact details. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
C. Information from Third-Party Services

Our Careers page embeds a third-party job application portal provided by Paycom. If you apply for a position, Paycom collects and processes your application data under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Paycom's Privacy Policy before submitting an application.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries, quote requests, and appointment requests
  • To communicate with you about our products and services
  • To protect the security of our Site (spam and bot prevention via reCAPTCHA)
  • To help you locate your nearest SSD Alarm office
  • To understand how visitors find and use our Site, and which of our listings and ads bring inquiries
  • To comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your personal information with:

  • Service providers — We use Google reCAPTCHA, Google Maps and Google Analytics, which receive limited data as described above. These services act as processors on our behalf or under their own privacy policies. We have turned off Google Analytics' advertising features (Google signals and ad personalization), so this data is not used to target ads to you.
  • Internal teams — Information you submit through our forms is sent via email to the appropriate SSD Alarm department to respond to your request.
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses the following cookies:

  • Anti-forgery token (XSRF-TOKEN) — A security cookie used to protect form submissions from cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Google reCAPTCHA cookies — Cookies set by Google to distinguish human users from bots and protect our forms from abuse.
  • Visit source (ssd_src) — Our own cookie recording how you first found our Site and how you most recently arrived (referring site, landing page, campaign tags, whether you came from an ad). It expires after 90 days and is only read by our Site.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — Cookies that let Google Analytics count visits and distinguish returning visitors. They expire after up to two years. You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we also tell Google not to use advertising storage for your visit.

5. Your Rights Under the CCPA

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:

  • Right to Know — You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collecting the information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to Delete — You have the right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct — You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
6. How to Exercise Your Rights

To submit a request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, you may:

We will verify your identity before processing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf by providing written authorization. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days as required by the CCPA.

7. Data Retention

Information submitted through our contact, quote, and appointment forms is sent via email to our internal teams and is not stored in a database on our Site. We retain emails containing your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations. The visit-source cookie expires after 90 days. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

8. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
